Autistic Center Andreas was established as the first facility of its kind in Slovakia in 2001. It is non-governmental organization with a nationwide scope, established to provide charitable services in social care and humanitarian assistance in population with an autistic syndrome. Establishment of the center prompted an urgent need for an alternative to previously existing forms of care for the autistic population in Slovakia.
