President Čaputová handed over the letters of credence to Roman Bužek, the new ambassador of the SR to the Kingdom of Norway and Republic of Iceland with its seat in Oslo.

In her speech, the president noted that the new ambassador was leaving to Norway during the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our states. "You will work in a country which is an inspiration for Slovakia in terms of the quality and independence of institutions, the power of the civil society, solidarity, its approach to minorities, rejection of discrimination and stereotypes and its relationship to the environment. The same characteristics apply to Iceland, which you will also cover diplomatically during your mission.”

The president feels that the large group of Norwegians and Icelanders who return home after completing their studies at our universities can be, a precious and active asset in our mutual relations. “I also expect that you will enhance and further develop the research and entrepreneurial partnerships between our countries in the fields of science and green technology which will deepen the dialogue and cooperation between our countries.”
