“The process was neither a brief nor an easy one,” President Kiska admitted and added that this would give another indication to the Georgian citizens that we share the same values and we see Georgia in our democratic part of the world.

The presidents also discussed the difficult security situation of Georgia. Andrej Kiska pointed out that out country fully supports Georgia´s ambitions concerning its NATO membership.

As Andrej Kiska said, he would never forget his visit of South Osethia which is separated from Georgia by barbed wire. “We could see that there was aggression from another country and violation of basic principles. It was a practical example of what Russia is able to do if they decide to threated the integrity of another country,” the Slovak President said. “It is an important signal for us to understand the concerns of the Baltic countries and Poland – whatever may happen if Russia decides to enforce its interests.”
