The president’s travel abroad continued by her official visit to Northern Macedonia on 7 September 2022, where she discussed the energy crisis with President Stevo Pendarovski and Prime Minister Dimitar Kovačevski.

"Words such as “terminals, interconnectors and renewable resources” dominated our debate about our common interest to cut ourselves off from our only gas source in Russia." According to the president, both of our countries are interested in shifting the focal point of energy carriers from the East-West axis to the South-North axis.  And this is where the potential for future cooperation lies.
The president also congratulated her Macedonian partners on the commencement of their EU accession process, what was a long awaited and highly desired goal for this country and which has been supported by Slovakia for a long time. "We will continue to share our experience from this process and the reforms which we adopted during this period.  For us, the integration process was completed a long time ago, but the process of improving institutions is far from complete. In particular, I spoke with the Macedonian president about our recent experience with the reform of the judicial system.”

The president was accompanied on her trip to Skopje from Greece by a delegation of representatives from business, science and research and the non-profit sector who met with their partners and agreed upon new forms of cooperation.
