President Thanks Austrian President for Offer of Assistance

President Zuzana Čaputová had a telephone conversation with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen on Thursday, 19 February 2021.

According to the president, every dialogue with Austrian President Van der Bellen is encouraging.  During the telephone call the president thanked him for the offer of Austrian healthcare workers to assist our hospitals. “I welcomed it as a sign of good neighbourly relationships, as well as a precious gesture of solidarity in these difficult times.
Both presidents take the further development of the pandemic very seriously. Although the number of Covid-related deaths in Austria is decreasing, the more dangerous, so-called South African mutation has been detected in the Tyrol region.  Therefore, although the adopted measures are restricting and exhausting, they are still extremely necessary. "We also spoke about global developments, the climate crisis, speeding up of safe vaccination and the recent summit of the Visegrad Four Presidents in Poland."
