President Accepts Resignation of minister Milan Krajniak

President Zuzana Čaputová accepted the resignation of Milan Krajniak, the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday 17 March 2021 and appointed Minister of Transportation and Construction Andrej Doležal as interim minister of labour.  

President Čaputová thanked the former minister for his work. "This has been an extremely difficult year for you, as well as for each member of the cabinet and every citizen of our republic. From the moment you took office you had to deal with the consequences of a pandemic, the likes of which mankind had not experienced for more than a century."

In her speech the President acknowledged everything the minister had done in the interest of maintaining jobs. "I appreciate the fact that you tried to lead the ministry and its institutions and organizations in a way that minimised the economic losses caused by the pandemic and ensured that they would be handled sensitively."

Although the reasons for his resignation are not completely clear, the president respects his decision and wishes him success in his work as a member of the National Council.
She also wished much success to Andrej Doležal, who has been appointed as interim Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family.
