President meets Polish and Croatian presidents

President Čaputová met Polish President Andrzej Duda and Croatian President Zoran Milanović on Tuesday 15 June 2021.

Both visiting presidents participated in the Globsec security conference in Bratislava. President Čaputová spoke with President Duda about the internal political situations in Slovakia and Poland, in particular about the judicial reforms, a sensitive topic from our perspective as well as the European perspective. "We did not overlook important climate goals and the steps which we must take to achieve them. We also dedicated part of our discussion to relations with Russia and Ukraine and the situation in Belarus."

President Čaputová spoke with President Milanović about the NATO summit in which they, among others, participated on Monday 14 June 2021. However, the final part of their meeting was dedicated to the pandemic situation, since the holiday season is about to begin and thousands of Slovak citizens plan to travel to Croatia. "Travel will be much simpler for those who are vaccinated; others will need to provide proof of a negative PCR or antigen test in order to cross the borders. We also talked about the situation in the Western Balkans.”
