President Meets Ambassadors of EU Countries

On Wednesday 30 June 2021, President Čaputová met the ambassadors of the European Union countries accredited to Slovakia.

These meetings, which are held at the initiative of the country serving as the president of the Council of the European Union, take place regularly. "This meeting is always a good opportunity to discuss recent developments – here at home in Slovakia as well as abroad. It is of a great importance to me that our partners in the EU understand what has been going on and how we perceive the challenges and events around us. This is also why I shared my views regarding the pandemic and governmental crisis, of the priorities of the Recovery Fund and the need to involve the entire society in the resolution of the climate crisis. I emphasized that protection of the rule of law and democratic values is important for Slovakia not only at home, but throughout the European Union."

On 1 July Slovenia assumed the EU Council presidency from Portugal.
