The president believes that this is not the end of the search for justice in the Kuciak case.

President Zuzana Čaputová responded to the verdict handed down by the Specialised Criminal Court in the case of the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová on 3 September 2020.

She honoured their memory at the memorial site on SNP Square. “I was shocked by the court’s verdict and I will need to study the reasoning carefully. I respect it but I expect that this will not be the end of the search for justice, which will now continue at the Supreme Court. My thoughts are with the parents of Ján and Martina and I wish them great strength in this difficult time. They, and all of us, deserve to see justice done against the people who ordered and organised the murder of their children.
